It's a hot mid-July afternoon. So hot, even the insects aren't moving. You're driving on an asphalt highway. The windows are rolled down, because the cooler isn't working. Up ahead you can see the shimmering heatwaves on the blacktop. It looks like there is a pond of water on the road in front of you, but you know that it is only a, heatwave mirage.
